Vintage Vogue by Dali

They sure don’t make them like this anymore!

During the 193o’s and 1940’s, legendary artist Salvador Dali created a series of covers for Vogue and in 1971 he edited an entire issue for the French edition.

With an acute sense of publicity and self-promotion, Dali was really the first pop artist. In addition to creating for Vogue, he also designed covers for Town and Country and American Weekly and in the mid 1940’s even launched Dali News, a publication devoted to all things Dali.

Oh, what I would give to see a Dali on today’s newsstands!
