In The Days of Our Lives we meet some fascinating and creative folk and take a look at what their typical day holds. Far from being about the mundane, it is a celebration of what it takes to juggle the day-to-day with big ideas, a successful business and a full home life. It’s about keeping all the balls in the air – what is important and what isn’t. It’s about (extra)ordinary moments that fill our every day.
This week, let me introduce you to Rina Chia. As a mother, pro op-shopper and the entrepreneurial brains behind Take 2 Markets she has many strings to her bow! In fact, she’s managed to turn her passion for vintage fashion and love of saving a dollar or two into a series of premier markets for recycled clothing.
This is a day in her life…
Usually first one awake, so start preparing breakfast for us and the kids – two boys aged 5 and 7.
Have breakfast with hubby & kids while discussing the day ahead and checking homework. Mornings are strictly family time.
Get myself dressed and ready for the day. What to wear?
Check my to do list for the day. There is always a list and it helps keep me on track with all my Take 2 Markets activities.
Walk the boys to school.
Start responding to emails, Twitter and Facebook messages. These usually involve, stallholder and business related emails, liaising with bloggers and new market locations such as Barkly Square which is taking place this Sunday.
Lunch at home or catch up with a friend for lunch at local cafe.
Advertising and strategic planning for Take 2 Markets – we are always looking at ways to broaden our reach. Keeping my eyes across Facebook and Twitter, staying connected with our audience.
Walk to school to pick up the boys
After school snack for the boys – chatting about their day and doing readers.
Start dinner preparation – sometimes the boys even help!
Dinner with the kids – hubby home late tonight.
Kids showers, brush teeth and ready for bed.
Hubby home – sit & chat while he has dinner.
Watch telly with hubby ( if anything good on) or both go back to office to finish some work.
Shower and get ready for bed.
Sit up in bed and read for a while before my eyelids give in!
