My July Write to Change is all about gratitude.
I’ve been reading lots of research about happiness, including this from the Harvard Business School:
“In positive psychology research, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.”
By making a gratitude journal my Write to Change, I’ll be reminded to find happiness in good things, the not-so-good things and even the downright tough things. Rather than focusing on what might be better or different, an attitude for grattitude will make me focus on the moment and being grateful for what is in front of me right now.
Do you want to join Sarah and I in Write to Change for this month?
All you have to do is write down just one goal or focus for July. It doesn’t matter whether it’s big or small – it just has to be something you want to achieve by the end of the month.
Then, take a photo of it and share what you’ve written on Instagram and tag it with #writetochange or post it on Checks and Spots’ Facebook page. By sharing our goals publicly, there’s no hiding. Think of Write to Change as outsourced self-control as research proves that when we are accountable we are far more likely to fulfill our goals.
