Change for the Best + Fitness First Giveaway {Closed}

fitness goal copyI’ve tried writing this post so many times, but keep deleting it because it made me feel uncomfortable admitting how I spent most of last year. But, it’s something I want to share, so with a deep breath here goes!

…..

About 18 months ago, I dropped some kilos and was back to what I weighed when I was sixteen. I’m not going to lie – it felt good. After two kids, it was nice that people noticed and to feel like my body was finally ‘mine’ again.

But once I lost the weight, I wanted to keep it off. So I would weigh myself. Not once a week. Not once a day. Too many times a day.

 …..

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been thinking about my attitude to my body. I always thought I was too smart to be duped by the whole body image thing. Obviously not!

I didn’t think that weight wasn’t part of my self image. But somehow I had ended up where how good (or bad) I felt about myself was reduced to a number on the scales.

So, I’ve set myself a new goal. It’s about fitness and seeing how I can change my body composition so that I’ve got more definition. It’s about how I feel (strong and toned) rather than how low my weight is.

I’ve stepped off the scales – in fact I haven’t weighed myself for a couple of weeks now – and will be keeping off them. With the support of Checks and Spots’ new sponsor, Fitness First, I’ll be trying a few different things with my food, having a crack at some different exercise experiences and sharing it all here.
