The other week, I had the chance to get up close and personal with IKEA’s new, limited edition collection, SPÄNST – and it’s an absolute cracker! Designed in collaboration with Chris Stamp, an LA based fashion designer and the Creative Director behind Stampd, this collection is defined by a meticulous attention to detail and minimal aesthetic. Expect to find refined materials, a strict monochrome palette and graphic elements. While SPÄNST has great foundation pieces for any space, I think it is perfect for updating hard-to-style teenage rooms.
Here’s my pick of the five best pieces from SPÄNST that you’ll want to get your mitts on before they sell out:
A flexible table that’s at a great height for a stand-up desk. Put magazines, chargers or notebooks away in the compartments under the table top.
Lean it, hang it up, lay it down or put several light sticks together in a group – this was my fave product from the SPÄNST collection.
This would be an awesome piece for a teenager’s room. Save floor space by stacking and storing shoes (or skateboards!) vertically.
Keep things in order and display your favourite shoes in the transparent plastic box, which also makes it easier for you to find the wheels you are looking for!
A spacious solution for clothes storage in industrial metal mesh.
