In The Days of Our Lives we meet some fascinating and creative folk and take a look at what their typical day holds. Far from being about the mundane, it is a celebration of what it takes to juggle the day-to-day with big ideas, a successful business and a full home life. It’s about keeping all the balls in the air – what is important and what isn’t. It’s about (extra)ordinary moments that fill our every day.
This week we get to meet two gorgeous Melbourne-based gals, Amanda Moore and Holly Kent, who are behind the boyswear label, Hunter Baby. With young bubs on their hips, Amanda and Holly are creating baby boyswear that is so desperately missing from the market. This range has personality, flare and not one naff teddy-driving-a-train appliqué in sight – hallelujah!
This is a day in the life of Amanda and Holly…
The Days of Our Lives: Amanda Moore
Kids wake up. Breakfast time!
Kinder lunch packed. Max is ready and dressed.
Kinder drop off.
Freddie is asleep so I can get to work on emails/new design ideas and graphic work including brochure design. I also pack a couple of online orders
Freddie is up and fed! Plays on his mat while I may cook up a fresh batch of pumpkin baby food to freeze.
Quick trip to the supermarket to pick up something for dinner which is often a chicken casserole that I make in our pressure cooker.
Freddie is asleep and Holly arrives to discuss the latest samples, online sales, new styles/colours. We also might make changes to our website/purchasing process and a few emails to our manufacturer go back and forth.
Freddie is up and we’re off to pick up Max from Kinder. Quick trip to the park with the kids for half and hour.
Back home and I start dinner for my husband and I.
Kids have dinner.
It’s time for the boys to have a bath.
Bed for the boys then some time on the couch, checking emails and eating dinner with my hubby!
Sometimes a hot bath to wind down (still on my phone emailing/Facebook/Instagram)
Bedtime as I’m pregnant with number 3 and tired all the time! Lucky hubby gets the TV from then til 10.30 when he comes to bed!

My day begins breastfeeding Eliza. Then, I sip on a hot cup of tea while I check my emails, my favourite blogs and Instagram action overnight. Eliza happily giggles next to me!
Feed Eliza solids.
Eliza naps for an hour so I have 1 hour to do odd-chores around the house.
Bathe baby & Skype my family in Canada
Feed Eliza and run a Hunter Baby errand with Eliza like visiting the post office, printers or meeting with a sales agent.
Feed Eliza solids and head to Amanda’s for a meeting about latest samples and manufacturing while Eliza and Freddie sleep in their respective cots.
Feed Eliza solids.
Take Eliza for a walk while I think about Hunter Baby things to do!!
Feed Eliza solids again (yes, a 7-month old eats so much!!) and start the bedtime routine.
Bottle feed Eliza and she’s down for the night! Next, I prepare dinner for Steve and I while I enjoy a glass of wine!
8.00 pm-10.00 pm
Respond to emails that have not been answered throughout the day. Flick through some mindless TV for 30 mins – at the moment it’s Downton Abbey and Boardwalk Empire 🙂
Dream feed (every now and then as we are weaning her off this one!) and bedtime for me!
