Some people in this world are doers. And some are the gonna-doers. My beautiful friend Lexi from PottyMouthMama, is definitely a doer. For all of October, she has frocked up for Frocktober – an event raising awareness and funds for ovarian cancer research through dress related fun
Lexi has worn a frock exercising. She has worn a frock camping. She has channelled Iris Apfel, Barbra Cartland, Picnic at Hanging Rock and Angelica Houston in her frocks. All day, every day day Lexi has been a total frockstar.
“It’s my third year of participating in Frocktober – and I think it’s where my love of my fellow sisters, my love of fashion, and my love of community merge. Plus I really love dressing up – so why not do something fun with that where I help other people?” explains Lexi.
“By talking about things that happen to us, it breaks down those walls. The more we talk, the more we feel supported. So Frocktober for me is talking about something pretty terrible for a whole month so that more people know and are aware of it – and will hopefully band together to fund research. 31 dresses in 31 days. I can do that. And raise money! (And also justify a lot of dresses to my husband).”
With one Australian women dieing every 10 hours from ovarian cancer and no early detection test, this cause desperately needs our support. Lexi is so close to hitting her target of raising $10,000 for ovarian cancer research and with only four days left of Frocktober, she would be over the moon if you could help out by making a donation. Plus, anything over $2 is tax deductible.
