In The Days of Our Lives, we meet some fascinating and creative folk and take a look at what their typical day holds. Far from being about the mundane, it is a celebration of what it takes to juggle the day-to-day with big ideas, a successful business and a full home life. It’s about keeping all the balls in the air – what is important and what isn’t. It’s about (extra)ordinary moments that fill our every day.
You’ve probably already seen Georgie Leckey’s creations on The Block, now take a look at what a typical day is like for the founder and director of Heatherly Design Bedheads. Known for her meticulously crafted, custom-made pieces, Georgie sure knows how to elevate a bedroom to seriously luxe new heights.
This is a day in Georgie’s life…

Scan emails from our many customers across Australia, then a mad rush to get children out the door and off to school. We live in Acheron, North East Victoria where we also run a green tea plantation called Two Rivers. Naturally I am sipping green tea first thing in the morning ! I work from home and also have our workshop in Knoxfield so I commute on a weekly basis to oversee things there.
8.30 – 9.30 am
Walk the dogs down our country lane, collect my thoughts for the day ahead.
9.30 am – 3.30 pm
In the office with my team working through emails, marketing schedules and production along with 101 other details that need attention. With our business and bespoke service, we provide a very hands on service so the attention to detail is important; it’s what sets us apart and the end result is always a stunning hand crafted bedhead and happy clients.
Shuttle children from school to the myriad of sporting committments and juggle phone calls in between!
8.00 – 9.00 pm
Address any urgent emails and turn off….running your own business means this is not always so easy but at the end of the day, I love what I do and what we create for others.
