I’m always on the look out for bits and pieces to feather our nest. My style combines vintage and mid-century with modern gems from online and homewares stores. Somehow they all seem to play nicely together.
Recently Freedom invited to discover their latest range and pick out a few things for home. For me, what makes Freedom stand out from the pack is that while they are really affordable, they still produce great design. And more importantly fresh design. Not knocked-off-seen-it-100-times-before design.
Anyway, here are a some of my favourite picks from Freedom and how they have taken up residency at our place. Oh, and between you and I, I can’t stop daydreaming about these Weekender Occasional Chairs. I think I might have to get a couple and see if I can slip them into our garden without The Husband noticing!
Seeing Spots
For the past two years I’ve run my business from home while sitting on the most uncomfortable chair in Australia. The only reason I persisted with it was because I didn’t want a ‘proper’ desk chair. They look too corporate. Too serious. Too ugly.
Not any more! My toosh is now happily planted on the perfectly spotty Penelope Desk Chair. It’s super comfy and the pretty print subscribes to my theory that everything is better in polka dots – even work!

Bright Thing
The studio (aka the guest room aka the dog house!) needed a little bedside lamp. With it’s winning combination of smooth lines, beautiful golden glow and white on white palette, there was no beating the Sonny Table Lamp.

Indigo Dreams
The perfect spot to spend an afternoon is on our day bed. It feels like it’s tucked up amongst the Plain Trees. To give this nook a makeover, I picked up an indigo comforter. It’s the perfect weight, blissfully soft and keeps whispering enticingly, “Come and have a siesta. Don’t worry about that work deadline you’re being slammed by, just snuggle in and have a snooze in the afternoon sun!”

Lantern Love
Summer barbies are coming and I can just image balmy nights with this Square Lantern flickering away. It’s a big piece that makes a deft statement but also incredibly practical as it’s completely enclosed.
