You Beauty! Four New Beauty Finds I’m Loving

checks and spots beauty blogger

In my previous life, I was the Product Development Manager for an Australian beauty brand. While I haven’t worked there for awhile now, tracking down products that are doing things differently is something that I’ll always be passionate about. So, here are four new beauty finds that are rocking my world and that I want to share with you.

Fresh Therapies Eden Natural Nail Polish Remover

Most nail polish removers are loaded with nasty chemicals like acetone – a serious industrial strength solvent. After a bit of searching though, I found Fresh Therapies Eden Natural Polish Remover. Free from any artificial acetones and formulated with biodegradable food grade and plant-based ingredients, it is non toxic and non-carcinogenic – which means it’s safe to use on children, if you’re pregnant or on people suffering illness.

I also loved that it didn’t damage the natural oil within my nails and leave them weak, dry and brittle like ‘regular’ nail polish can. Bonus points are also awarded for the beautiful packaging!

Ellis Fass Creamy Eyes

Last week I went into Mecca with a very specific brief: I wanted a cream based eye colour that gave my lids a beautiful sheen and looked very natural. And this is what I came out with.

Ellis Faas Creamy Eyes (Shade E129) is a unique liquid to powder eye colour that dries quickly and has serious staying power. Pop it on in the morning and it will still look fresh in the evening – which is saying something given that we’ve had a very sweaty run of 40 degree days in my neck of the woods!

To take things up a notch and give my eyes a delicate shimmer at nigt, I’ve been layering this product with one of my all-time fave eye shadows – Stilla’s Kitten shade.

Dermalogica Precleanse

For years I was devoted to cleansing oils, and I’m not really sure why I stopped. But recently I came across Dermalogica’s Precleanse and now I’m well and truly back on the cleansing oil bandwagon!

It cuts through make-up, oil and sunscreen (which I’ve been slathering on with all the time I’ve been clocking at the beach). When you add water, this oil transforms into a beautiful milky emulsion that gently yet effectively cleanses skin. Plus it’s formulated without artificial fragrances and colours, which is always a good thing in my books!

Sukin Hand and Nail Cream

When I was in the Chemist the other day, I spied Sukin’s Hand & Nail Cream. Costing less than five clams and in a handy 50ml size that’s perfect for throwing into your handbag, I thought I’d give it a whirl.

Formulated with hydrolyzed soy protein to strengthen nails and cuticles, plus aloe vera and vitamin E to soothe and soften hands this cream is a winner. It’s non greasy, light, paraben free and  moisture rich….oh and don’t get me started on how divine it smells!
