Apparently the Bush is Back

Apparently the bush is back.

Gwyneth Paltrow admitted to Ellen DeGeneres that she ‘rocks a 70s vibe down there.’ While Cameron Diaz has a section in her latest book that’s called ‘In Praise Pubes’ and is devoted to the subject. Her message is basically this:

“Your pubic hair is a mysterious, confusing, pretty, furry door (more like a beaded curtain?) to your vagina, and you should never remove it because one day someone’s going to want to get in there and they’ll probably enjoy their stay more if they have to hunt around for the entrance, like they’re entering a genital speakeasy”.

Huh?!

Then American Apparel had this look front and centre in their NY store window:

And that’s basically all it took for everyone to proclaim that the bush is back and the Brazilian is O-U-T.

But personally, I’m just not buying it. Since when did pubes become a trend? How can anyone seriously say that 2014 is the year of the bush, Normcore and kombucha?

I thought grooming your lady garden was all about choice, and a personal one at that. In fact, I couldn’t give two hoots who has a fuzzy triangle or not. I’ll do as I please. Instead, let’s talk about sexual politics that matter – like sexual slavery, pop culture’s default position of ‘slut-shaming’ or transgender rights.

What do you think when you hear people say that 2014 is the year of the bush?
