When it comes to putting my best face forward, I like my skincare to be free from toxins! Which is why Australian brand, Natural Instinct, is right up my alley.

To see whether their natural, chemical-free formulations stack up, I used Natural Instinct skincare exclusively for the last 6 weeks. Here are the results!

What Makes Natural Instinct Products Unique?

The reason I became interested in Natural Instinct is that they aren’t simply natural in name only. They walk the talk. Their products are plant derived, pH balanced and also have a Natural Ingredient Standard which means they are free from over 400 synthetic chemicals, including:

  • Petrochemicals
  • PEGS
  • Propylene Glycol
  • Mineral oils
  • Phenoxyethanol
  • EDTA
  • Sulphates
  • Silicones
  • Parabens
  • Animal Derivatives
  • PABA
  • Artificial fragrances and colours

Why does this matter?

Skin is your body’s largest organ. When you apply a product, the ingredients penetrate the dermis and enter your bloodstream. To avoid unnecessary chemicals and potentially harmful synthetic ingredients being absorbed into your body, it’s best to opt for natural skincare whenever possible.

Which Products Did I Try?

For the last six weeks I used four Natural Instinct products:

Natural Instinct Skin Refining Cleansing Oila lightweight blend of six botanical oil extracts that gently cleanses without stripping skin of its natural oils. This is one of Natural Instinct’s most popular products with 100% of women who used it seeing an improvement in evenness of skin tone revealing smooth, refined and youthful skin.*

Natural Instinct Rejuvenating Rosehip Oil – a Certified Organic Rosehip Oil that has been boosted with powerful antioxidants, Omegas and Vitamins to promote skin elasticity, help smooth fine lines and assist skin renewal.

Natural Instinct Plump and Renew Serum – a multi-action daily serum that improves wrinkles, hydration and skin tone.

Natural Instinct Nourishing Facial Moisturiser – packed with Rosehip and Sweet Almond Oil, this Moisturiser offers 12 hours of continuous hydration, helps restore skin elasticity and reduces the appearance of fine lines.

Does Natural Instinct Skincare Work?

Cleanse

Without a doubt, my favourite product from this range is the Cleansing Oil. While it may sound counterintuitive (don’t you cleanse to get oil off your skin?) this oil is incredible at lifting dirt from pores and removing even mascara, gently, without pulling the skin. I loved this product so much; I’m going to stick with it.

My tip for getting more out of your Cleansing Oil:

Warm at least two pumps of oil in the palms of your hands before applying. Gently massage into your skin as you would your normal cleanser then place a very warm (not hot) washcloth on your face for a minute or so to help open your pores. As your pores open, they release impurities and the oil you don’t want on your skin. Gently wipe the oil from your face (resist the urge to scrub), rinse cloth out and wipe once more to ensure skin is free of oil.

Hydrate

My skin really doesn’t like winter. Throw in a long-haul flight to the US and a week in the desert where temperatures hovered around 45 degrees, and my complexion was under a stack of stress during the time I used Natural Instinct.

But, this little arsenal of three hydrating products was up for the challenge. They took my skin from dry and tight to supple and glowy. My skin tone also improved significantly.

The Nourishing Facial Moisturiser is a lightweight lotion, so I thought it might not be able to be able to bring the heavy-duty moisture that my skin was missing. But when combined with the Rosehip Oil and Serum it was a star performer at repairing, pampering and strengthening my skin.

If three hydrating products seem too much for your skincare routine, then I’d suggest just using the Rosehip Oil and Facial Moisturiser. I used this duo for the last two weeks of my trial and found they were a winning combo.

Is Natural Instinct Skincare Worth It?

Think natural skincare is super exxy? Think again! For under $80 you can get your mitts on the four Natural Instinct products that I used, making it one of the best value ranges going around – especially since it get such great results!
