5 Must Have Beauty Treatments For Party Season

GryTømt is the skin whisperer behind HÜD, Melbourne’s first Scandinavian Skin and Body Lounge. Based on the nordic philosophy; REN (clean), RO (calm) and RESULTAT (result), HÜD is passionate about helping clients achieve the best skin and body health possible. So, with party season in full swing, I asked Gry to give us the lowdown on the top beauty treatments that will have you looking your best.

Hydra dermabrasion + LED

Hydra Dermabrasion is a gentler alternative to microdermabrasion that improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, congested and enlarged pores, oily or acne-prone skin and hyper pigmentation.

Using Vortex fusion diamond tips, Hydra Dermabrasion deeply exfoliates and cleanses the skin, as well as extracts impurities. The skin is then hydrated with serums that are tailored to treat specific client concerns. The suction and specific movements in which the treatment is performed also helps flushing the lymphatic system.

After gently removing the surface cells that are past their prime, skin is then “rebooted” with LED. This technology has been shown to enhance cellular metabolism, accelerate the repair and renewal of damaged skin cells, as well as stimulate the production of collagen leading to improved skin texture and firmness. With no downtime, this treatment is the perfect pre party treat!

Alkaline Medi Pedi

This genius treatment was created by Danne Montague King and alters the skin’s PH from a normal 5.5 (or thereabouts, depending on how well your acid mantle functions) to 12 in 3 minutes! Bringing the PH that high, softens, swells and desquamates dead cells so they can easily slough off. This is the ultimate party feet treat and will leave your tootsies super soft and ready for your Choo’s!

Spray Tan

There’s a fine line between the perfect faux glow and a tandoori tan! To create a beautiful, natural looking tan, the team at HÜD find consultation is key. They then tailor the tan to each client’s undertones and often custom blend. They also give thorough pre and post instructions, and a PH balancing prep for people whose skin is too alkaline (due to use of soaps etc).

Body Sculpting

Having a hard time fitting into that slinky dress for your Christmas Party? By creating a thermogenic (heating) effect, Body Sculpting works to promote circulation and address waste material in the skin by flushing out impurities and toxins from the body. This creates more toned, healthy looking skin because it is nourished by a rich supply of nutrients and is free from impurities. The unique products used in this treatment also reduce swelling, oedema and excess fluid usually associated with cellulite.

The effects of this treatment are very quick, there is no downtime and excellent results can be seen in just one treatment. However, if you’re allergic to Cassia extract or cinnamon it’s best to try something else.

Brow Shaping

Unlike many other salons, HÜD shape brows with the client sitting upright in a chair. This is because the face changes due to uneven weight distribution when you lie down and makes it close to impossible to get the perfect symmetry.

Gry also commented that while a thicker brow has been in vogue for some time, we are seeing a bit more structure to the brows.  For a while now they have almost been too bushy, and often too rounded along the top and too narrow in the middle. But a new take on full brows see us moving towards a more strategic arch placement with a “winged” tail for an eye lift.
